Unscrewing moulds for high-precision plastic threads
Perfectly suited to the production of complex or particularly tight plastic threads, unscrewing moulds meet the most demanding requirements in the medical sectors. Thanks to an electric unscrewing mechanism, they ensure precise, perfectly controlled demolding, thus limiting mechanical stress on parts.
This system guarantees excellent repeatability between each production cycle, and provides constant control over the quality of injected parts, even for complex geometries or technical threads.

Moulds for unscrewing
An unscrewing mold is an injection mold specially designed to manufacture parts with plastic threads, such as caps or medical components.
Unlike conventional moulds, it incorporates a mechanical (often electrical) system for unscrewing the part after injection. This prevents the thread from being broken or deformed during demolding, while guaranteeing high precision and excellent repeatability.
Threaded plastic parts with complex geometries, such as screw caps, tamper-evident closures, vials or medical device components, often require an unscrewing mold.
When the thread is too deep or too tight, a conventional ejector will cause deformation. Mechanical unscrewing ensures smooth demolding and consistent part quality.
The unscrewing mechanism can be electric, hydraulic or mechanical.
At SIMON, we prefer electric triggering for greater precision and optimum control of movements.
Once the part has been injected and cooled, the system activates the rotation of the threaded cavity, which unscrews the part before ejection. This technology preserves the integrity of the thread while maintaining high speeds.
SIMON unscrewing moulds offer high reliability, exceptional repeatability and consistent thread quality. Their robust design minimizes wear and guarantees long life.
Our systems are fully customized according to part geometry and production constraints. They are particularly well suited to demanding sectors such as cosmetics, medical and food.
Yes, unscrewing moulds can be integrated into standard injection molding machines, provided they are equipped with the necessary interfaces to control the unscrewing mechanism (notably electrical).
SIMON assists its customers in defining the necessary technical parameters, and adapts the mold design to the existing machine environment. The aim is to optimize productivity without radically modifying the production line.
